SALLY BROOKS

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR AND OWNER

3 TIMES WINNER OF THE PRESTIGIOUS TITLE, LONDON HAIRDRESSER OF THE YEAR, SALLY BROOKS IS RENOWNED FOR HER CREATIVE VISION AND FLAIR FOR TRANSLATING HIGH FASHION TRENDS INTO WORKABLE HAIRCUTS IN THE SALON, THAT DON’T THEN REQUIRE HOURS AT HOME WITH THE HAIRDRYER – THE REASON, NO DOUBT, FOR HER EXTENSIVE WAITING LIST.

Following a successful decade-long career as ‘International Artistic Director at Trevor Sorbie, Sally opened Brooks&Brooks along with business partner, Jamie Brooks, in December 2001. Meeting on pretty much their first day at Trevor Sorbie, they quickly realised a meeting of ideas and values when it came to hairdressing – good, old-fashioned client values and directional cutting and styling. The seeds for Brooks&Brooks’ bespoke hairdressing boutique were planted.

Since embarking on Brooks&Brooks, Sally has seen both her name and that of the salon’s, soar creatively. Her work has appeared in magazines such as Elle, Brazilian Vogue, Cosmopolitan and You magazine and she has made regular appearances on lifestyle TV programmes including GMTV, Faking It and The Salon
to name a few.

In addition to expressing her own hairdressing vision via high fashion editorial and catwalk shows – along with Jamie she has created concept hair for fashion designers, Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan and Clements Ribiero – Sally also places great onus on education in hairdressing. She not only trains the salon’s juniors, but also travels the world extensively teaching seminars and putting on hair shows, which, as she puts it, “[teaching] is integral to the Brooks&Brooks philosophy; it makes you reassess how you do something and consider whether it’s really the best way.
As a result you yourself improve.”

A cut with Sally Brooks is £100
